I was asked by the National Forest Company to create two wooden signs to be used at the Timber Festival 2022. These were designed and made from Ash that I had felled from local woods as part of my volunteering with Heartwood Community Woodfuel Group. The Ash had been planked, then stacked to season for over 18 month before being plained and thicknessed. Four strips of a uniform size were then glued edge on to form a wide board. Once the glue had cured the board was cut into two peices for the signs. The front was laser engraved before the fold away legs where glued to the back. A coat of Osmo Hard Wax Oil was applied to bring out the grain and protect the signs so that they can be used at future events.
