A commission to create a wooden gift to be given to corporate sponsors of The National Forest Company.
The National Forest Company wanted a locally produced wooden gift to be given to corporate sponsors as a mark or recognition for their support.
Ash, from my volunteer work for Heartwood Community Woodland Group, and Oak were used for the gifts. This was planed and thicknessed before cutting to the required lengths. The bulk of the wood was removed from the top on the band saw and then the remainder was then trimmed on the router table using a custom made jig. Each sign was then laser engraved, edges rounded and then sanded.
The signs were then finished with four coats of Liberon Danish Oil on the Ash and Liberon Tung Oil on the Oak.
